PodPlayer TV

A free podcast player for your Roku. Millions of shows from the open Podcast Index, with Podcasting 2.0 features built in.

What it does

Search your way

Type or speak your search, browse categories and trending shows, or find every episode a host or guest appears in.

Audio and video

Play audio and video podcasts and pick up right where you left off.

Chapters with artwork

Artwork and titles change with each chapter as you listen, and a chapter list lets you jump around.

Transcripts

Show or hide the transcript, shown line by line in time with the audio.

Live shows and podrolls

Tune in to podcasts that are live right now, and discover shows your favorites recommend.

Show websites

Scan a QR code to open a show's or episode's website on your phone, straight from your TV.

Sort your shows

Sort your podcasts by name, date added, or newest episode.

Private sync

Your subscriptions sync across your Rokus with a five-word passphrase. No email, no password, and your list is encrypted so only you can read it.

How to get it

PodPlayer TV is coming soon to the Roku Channel Store.

  1. On your Roku, open Streaming Store (or Search) from the home screen.
  2. Search for PodPlayer TV and choose Add channel.
  3. Open it and start listening. Your account is created for you automatically, with nothing to sign up for.
  4. To use the same list on another Roku, go to Settings there and type your five-word passphrase (the first three letters of each word are enough).

Your privacy

PodPlayer TV doesn't ask for your name, email, or any account details. Your subscription list is encrypted on your Roku with your passphrase before it's saved, so the server only stores data it can't read. The passphrase itself never leaves your Roku. Podcast searches pass through our server to the Podcast Index so the API key stays private, and we don't save them or link them to your account. Delete your account any time from Settings.
